The 20th Annual New Works
Festival Presents...
 Four
original, full-length plays selected from those submitted
to the 2010 Long Beach Playhouse 20th Annual New Works Festival
will be given directed, staged readings this spring. The
Festival is part of our ongoing commitment to help established
and emerging playwrights develop new work. To date, 18 NEW
WORKS have evolved from staged readings into full productions
at the Playhouse. There is a suggested donation of $10 with
a post-performance discussion. Staged reading of the following
new plays: The Lost Tribe by Jeff Stolzer on March
27, The Restoration of Sight by Richard
Martin Hirsch on April 24, The Old Bird by Lynn

Clean Up Woman
Long
Beach Convention Center, Terrace Theater, 300 East Ocean Boulevard,
Long Beach, CA 90802 / The Clean Up Woman is the
hilarious new hit stage play sweeping the country written
and directed by JD Lawrence. The play follows the life of
Terri Adams, a journalist who pushes aside her newlywed domestic
apron for a six figure Anchor Job with WNY5. But when Terri
starts neglecting home for her new position, her supportive
husband comes to his wits end and demands she clean up her
act, starting with the house. To keep the peace, her man and
her job, Terri hires a local cleaning service recommended
by a co-worker. But if not careful, she just might find "The
Clean Up Woman" picking up more than she's supposed to.
JD Lawrence plays seven characters in the play (including
a Hindu cab-driver, a 75 year old white man, a rapper, and
a stylist). It also stars Emmy award winner Jackée
Harry, Telma Hopkins and singer/actor Christopher Williams.
The play has broken box office records around the country
including the title of the highest grossing stage play since
1977 at the renowned Arts and Letters in Dallas. Buy

SCCA SPEED World Challenge will once again bring its signature
brand of wheel-to-wheel sports car racing to the historic
1.97-mile street course at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long

six racing series, including drifting and Firestone Indy

SCCA SPEED World Challenge will once again bring its signature
brand of wheel-to-wheel sports car racing to the historic
1.97-mile street course at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will scorch the downtown
Long Beach streets with continuous action from six racing
series, including drifting and Firestone Indy Lights. On Saturday,
April 17, the racing spotlight will shine on two fan favorites,
the sports cars of the American Le Mans Series and the 34th
Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, with film star Keanu Reeves
expected to return as a “pro” and try for a second
straight win. Race weekend’s festival of entertainment

Four
original, full-length plays selected from those submitted
to the 2010 Long Beach Playhouse 20th Annual New Works Festival
will be given directed, staged readings this spring. The
Festival is part of our ongoing commitment to help established
and emerging playwrights develop new work. To date, 18 NEW
WORKS have evolved from staged readings into full productions
at the Playhouse. There is a suggested donation of $10 with
a post-performance discussion. Staged reading of the following
new plays: The Lost Tribe by Jeff Stolzer on March
27, The Restoration of Sight by Richard
Martin Hirsch on April 24, The Old Bird by Lynn
Wells Nelson on May 29 and Upside-Down by Marcia
