Shopping is an adventure in Long Beach, with a variety of boutiques, trendy fashion stores, specialty shops and hip furniture galleries to choose from. You will find just about anything you could possibly want in the dynamic city of Long Beach. The city is full of different neighborhoods that all offer their own unique flair, from Fourth Street to Second Street to Belmont Shore and downtown.
Local neighborhood shopping districts include 4th Street Retro Row, Belmont Shore, Bixby Knolls, Cambodia Town, Downtown Long Beach, and East Anaheim. The 4th Street Corridor is a small business district along 4th Street from Cherry Avenue to Junipero Avenue. It’s located east of downtown Long Beach and offers plenty of vintage and kitschy shopping. Fabulous furniture and clothing from bygone eras is available at antique and vintage clothing stores. There are also a number of bars and restaurants, two coffeeshops, a bookstore and the newly restored Art Theatre.
Belmont Shore is nestled along the Coast in the southeast corner of Long Beach. It’s a charming beachside community that’s home to over 250 businesses and often referred to as “the Shore” by locals. Second Street and the fifteen intersecting side streets make up the business district of Belmont Shore. The residential area of the neighborhood features beautiful Spanish style homes from the 1920s and 30s as well as charming beach bungalows.
Other areas you might want to venture into during your shopping expedition are Bixby Knolls, the Broadway District, Cambodia Town, East Villlage and East Anaheim.
East Village is home to Long Beach's only certified organic Farmers Market as well as the emerging arts community. It’s also home to the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA), the nation's only museum to exclusively feature art from Latin America. The East Village offers cutting-edge exhibits, one-of-a-kind galleries, unique retailers, and cozy sidewalk cafes.
And don’t forget downtown Long Beach. Downtown is one of Southern California's most unique waterfront urban destinations to live, work, and play. Downtown Long Beach is centrally located and only 20 minutes from both Los Angeles and central Orange County. It offers a variety of interesting shops from antiques to the latest fashions.
